(iii) While choosing an accountant, make sure your accountant has experience of dealing with the accounts of small business, if your business is small in nature. Even better, if she/he has experience of working with organizations of your type/sector.
(iv) Try getting the cross checking done with other firms how much their accountants are charging. It is a good idea to compare rates before choosing an accountant, to make sure he/she is charging the right rate.
(v) Meet up with the concerned person as you would trust the person for dealing with your money.  This is an important step in choosing an accountant for your business.
(vi) Try and know the additional services and advices can she/he offer.
(vii) The best accountants for the small business are the ones who are used to dealing with the small time business—they know how to manage and utilize the small funds. It would be a very silly mistake to choose an accountant and to bring one who has experiences of dealing with big firms and big funds.
(viii) In the process of selecting an accountant, make sure your accounts person does not keep the work reserved till the year end.
(ix) Your accountant should be able to minimize your taxes; for that get in touch with his/her former clients to find out how far she/he has been successful in doing this.
(x) You must question the person how he or she can guide you when the company will be dissolved.
